Mari Tennis is a lifelong dream, my own tennis school for all ages and abilities. I currently operate in the Greater Helsinki Area in Finland. I have lived, breathed and loved tennis my whole life – and for all my adult life  it has also been my livelihood. Tennis has taken me around the world, first as a player and then as a coach. I’ve met wonderful people while living and coaching in the US and Europe – many of whom have become my good friends.

I’m often asked what the source of inspiration is for me. That’s a simple question; my students and their relentless will to learn and become better players. My role as a coach is to provide a positive atmosphere for learning. I keep up with the latest in tennis coaching by closely monitoring what’s happening around the world.

I have learnt that the positive style of coaching will bring the most success, and to spread that way of coaching has become my mission here in Finland.

The most important values for me in my work are perseverance, equality and the joy of succeeding. In my opinion, miracles are done with will, skill and determination – and everyone is welcome to the courts at Mari Tennis. I will do my utmost for my students to keep improving and that they always leave the court with a smile on their face.

And lastly, a little bit about my history; I’ve represented my home country, Finland, as a junior and adult and played college tennis in the US. I have a degree on tennis coaching, USPTR High Performance, and I’ve coached players on many levels from beginners to professionals in the US, France, Germany and now Finland.
